Must See Concerts in Detroit – November 2018

Must See November

Not a ton of huge names coming through this month. So you know what? Let’s go to a show and discover some new music.

Death Valley Girls

Where: Deluxx Fluxx
When: November 3
Yo. If Iggy Pop digs you enough to be in your music video, that’s enough of an endorsement for us.

Violent Femmes

Where: Majestic
When: November 3
Hell yeah.

Jake Shears

Where: El Club
When: November 4
Best known for his work with Scissor Sisters, Jake Shears (get it, shears, scissors…) is doing his own thang. Definitely just as catchy as his other work.

Beach Fossils & WAVVES

Where: Deluxx Fluxx
When: November 4 & 5
Two of our favorites with a duel headlining tour. This should be a fucking blast.

Where: Majestic
When: November 6
They kinda rock. Re-live the early 2000s glory of HOOBASTANK!

Where: The Shelter
When: November 10
Amazing two-piece rock band. Very Black Keys/Black Pistol Fire/Royal Blood vibe going on here.

The Dead South

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: November 10
After you rock out to cleopatrick, go upstairs and get down to this bluegrass band. That’s what we’ll be doing.

Tenacious D

Where: Fillmore
When: November 12
Play the best song in the world…

Elvis Costello

Where: Fillmore
When: November 13
So many hits.

Streetlight Manifesto

Where: Majestic
When: November 16

Death From Above

Where: Majestic
When: November 17
Love, LOVE the guys from DFA. We talked with Jesse last time they came around – and took pics at their show.

Peter Wolf

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: November 17
Party time.

Hands Like Houses

Where: Magic Stick
When: November 20
They rock.

Echo and the Bunnymen

Where: Fillmore
When: November 23

Start Making Sense (Talking Heads Tribute)

Where: Majestic
When: November 24
If you didn’t have a chance to catch David Byrne at the Fox, this may help ease your pain.

Cloud Nothings

Where: El Club
When: November 26
Always a good time with them.

Where: The Shelter
When: November 27
Going to be an acoustic show, so probably won’t be rocking this hard.

See you around, Detroit!
