Must See Concerts in Detroit January 2018

Must See January

It’s cold.

Where: The Shelter
When: January 7
Why: We chatted with Dorothy about her upcoming show in Detroit! Read the interview here, then rock out with her on Jan 7!

The Devil Makes Three

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: January 13
Why: If you like Old Crow Medicine show, you’ll dig these guys. It’s bluegrass with a bit of a darker side.

The Killers

Where: Masonic Temple Theatre
When: January 15
Why: You should be coming out of your cage and doing just fine by now.

Passion Pit

Where: Royal Oak Music Theatre
When: January 16
Why: It’s kind of impossible to not dig the sound of Passion Pit. Dancing all night long.

Lana Del Ray

Where: Little Caesars Arena
When: January 17
Why: Summertime Sadness isn’t really at the top of our minds at this time of year, but fuck is it a great song.

Where: Masonic Temple Theatre
When: January 19
Why: I mean, the guy performs with a giant marshmallow helmet. How could this not be a fucking riot?

Where: Fox Theatre
When: January 23
Why: Very interesting. They play cellos, but this is not the classical concert you may expect. Awesome covers of rock songs, plus the duo are pretty funny, and great showmen, too.

Walk the Moon

Where: Fillmore
When: January 24
Why: We’ve heard this song roughly 400,000 times in the last three years…and it’s still catchy as hell.

Sleigh Bells

Where: El Club Detroit
When: January 30
Why: After their insane show last time at El Club Detroit, there’s no way we will ever miss them again.

See you around, Detroit!
