Must See Concerts in Detroit – December 2017

Must See December

The last month of 2017 is highlighted with massive two-night concert events featuring local artists. First, we have the incredible GRiZMAS coming back to Masonic Temple on the 15th and 16th. Then, Frankenmuth’s own Greta Van Fleet play back-to-back nights at St. Andrew’s Hall on the 28th and 29th. What a great way to end the year in Detroit!

Jake Bugg

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: December 1
Why: We saw Jake Bugg last year and were quite impressed. This should be fun.

Thrice and Circa Survive

Where: Fillmore
When: December 3
Why: New music from Thrice is reason enough to come by to this show. Quite a loaded lineup. Get here early and enjoy the night.

Katy Perry

Where: Little Caesar’s Arena
When: December 6
Why: Pretty obvious why we’d want to see her. Lots of hits…even though they’re pop nonsense. We still love a good pop song.

The White Buffalo

Where: The Shelter
When: December 6
Why: Singer/songwriter Jake Smith aka The White Buffalo brings his incredible sound and powerful voice to such an intimate venue.

Jimmy Eat World

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: December 7
Why: Fucking classics. They played The Fillmore last year and put on an excellent show. St. Andrew’s is likely to be PACKED for this one. Get your tickets now.

Angel Olsen

Where: Majestic Theatre
When: December 8
Why: “Shut up and kiss me, hold me tight.” Anything you say Angel Olsen.

Say Anything

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: December 13
Why: Where the fuck have they been? Almost a decade since without new music from Say Anything ended when they released a new album back in February, I Don’t Think It Is.

GRiZMAS 2017

Where: Masonic Temple
When: December 15 and 16
Why: Last year was our first time experiencing GRiZMAS, and we’ve had it circled on our calendars ever since it was announced again this year. So that should tell you how much fun this event is.

Dua Lipa and The Chainsmokers

Where: Fillmore
When: December 15
Why: How the hell is this show at The Fillmore? Tickets have to be going fast. Get on it now.

Greta Van Fleet

Where: St. Andrew’s Hall
When: December 28 & 29
Why: This year was incredible for the guys from Michigan. They’ve been blowing up the rock charts, proving you can still be a classic rock sensation in 2017. Two shows that are sold out should make for a wild weekend in Detroit.

Pretty Lights

Where: Fillmore
When: December 28 & 29
Why: Tough to follow the back to back madness of GRiZ, but Pretty Lights are definitely up for the challenge. Check out what their live shows look like…daaaaaamn.

See you around, Detroit!
